A photo is a flashcard. The hippocampus’s right-hand man. It helps you remember everything—from what to get at the store to the greatest moments of your life. Once rare and reserved for the privileged, photographic documentation is now ubiquitous. Even without consciously photographing ourselves, we are constantly being captured.

To live in a time when you can take a photo of just about anything makes it harder than ever to distinguish what others should see—or what is valuable. With that thought always toiling in the back of my mind, offering its two cents here and there, I challenge myself to see what I can make others remember. To create images that transcend my life and speak to yours—pictures that transport you to a time, place, or feeling you didn’t know was within reach.

Between capricious party photos, elaborate photoshoots, and my parents’ modest backyard shoes, I hope you unlock a memory or two.
